SDA BLOG Roundup - March 2009

Here are highlights from the Adventist-related blogosphere for the month of March. Can you say "random?"

: : :

Our Sword: What happens when you lock a traditional Adventist and a Catholic in a blog forum, drop the topic of the state-of-the-dead in the room and throw away the key? For theology buffs of both persuasions, a great tennis match all the way to Christ's death and resurrection. For others, a whole lot of text scrolling!

365 Walks!: From the LOL files comes this entry from Allan Stellar, a non-SDA. He talks about his ultra-fundamentalist, vegetarian Adventist neighbors and their very friendly dog Teddy. Stellar says, "I gave Teddy a piece of ham. He looked at it, and didn't really know what to do with it. After some hesitancy, he remembered his doggy instincts and quickly wolfed it down. I guess in 7th Day Adventist [sic] households, even the dogs are vegetarians."

New England Pastor: Pastor/author Shawn Brace shares tips on how to meet new people and "witness" to them. He suggests a preliminary question to ask yourself: "If this person never became a Seventh-day Adventist, would I still be interested in him/her?"

Reinventing the Adventist Wheel: Steve Parker reviews ex-SDA pastor Dale Ratzlaff's new book Truth Led Me Out.  Parker: "[It] provides a very useful insight into the process of one man courageously following where he believes the evidence leads."  Interesting comments follow.

Best Practices Night Owl Cafe: Moderated by pastor Loren Seibold, one question for discussion asks, "What do you think about celebrating Easter Sunday in a Seventh-day Adventist context? A good idea, or not?"

Reflecting Jesus: Pastor Gavin Anthony of the Dublin Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ireland blogs on discipleship and spiritual formation.

Things I Read: Retired SDA pastor Islwyn Rees writes from England on Faith and Science and Cultural Marxism for a non-Adventist audience.

Sabbath Dinner: Not a blog, but an interesting resource. According to the bold site owner, "If you need a place to eat on sabbath, this resource website allows you to search throughout the United State (and soon the world) to find out who is having sabbath dinner near you."
